Originally about our 2007 - 2008 round the world trip without flying, during which we employed every mode of transport available and revelled in the slow movement through landscape, culture, people and language rather than just passing over it all in an aluminium sausage! This blog is all about the joy of slow and low carbon travel...
Following this announcement by Ryanair about charging for toilet use I got sent the mocked up safety card below. But it's the Daily Mash's take on this that really cracked me up!
We were sitting in the row of seats by the emergency exit on a Ryanair flight a few days ago when the steward came over and casually remarked that we should, in an emergency, open the hatch/door and assist other passengers. No explanation of what 'assisting the other passengers' entailed. I thought I could shout encouragingly from the safety of the ground.

I'm travelling by Ryanair next week. I think I'll print off a few of these and leave them around on the seats!
